Leti, innovation
for industry

Leti is expanding microtechnology’s safety, gaming and art applications.
The DEMOLOC program is developing a system that can be used to both locate people inside a structure and determine whether they are standing, sitting or lying down.
An obvious application for this collaboration between Leti, the European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company (EADS) and 3D+ would be tracking fire fighters inside a burning building. The system uses a Tetrapol professional mobile radio system, a set of accelerometers and magnetometers MEMS (micro-fluxgate technology) packaged in 3 dimensions for posture detection, and an ultra-wideband ASIC transceiver in the positioning systems.
Project Motion In Gaming highlights the potential of Leti and Movea’s motion-capture technology to revolutionize the gaming industry.
The technology showed it could meet the needs of casual gamers, who expect a user-friendly experience (intuitive, fun, exciting), and hardcore gamers, who expect a sophisticated experience (new features and challenges, long-term play).
The project took a user-centered approach and involved four Leti partners: Movea, Université Pierre-Mendès-France, WideScreen Games and XpTeam.
The Atelier Arts-Sciences joint initiative with Hexagone Scène Nationale spurred the production of electronic modular, multi-sensor interfaces and associated software. Reusing these in other arts/science projects will enable Leti to spread its technological know-how in the arts community while learning from artists’ creativity.
