Clinatec biomedical platform is developing innovative brain-disorder treatments

Clinatec – the multidisciplinary biomedical research center formed by Leti, Grenoble University Hospital and Joseph Fourier University – has recently been restructured to support its growth into a multi-project research center focused on developing innovative treatments for cerebral and neuro-degenerative disorders.

Researchers are working on an implantable brain-computer interface device to allow quadriplegic patients to control robotic limbs. Thus far, they have constructed an implantable device capable of operating prosthetics with a degree of freedom, and validated it as biocompatible.

Another new project is the pre-clinical validation and clinical testing of the DELICE pump, an implantable device for localized drug delivery.

CEA-Leti has demonstrated a silicon micro-pump with a total drug-delivery control system, especially for intratumoral delivery of drugs without backflow.
The characteristics of the micro-device perfectly match the requirements of our industrial partner.
